Our Work

Invasive species research is critical for protecting ecosystems, agriculture, and local economies, as these organisms can spread rapidly and cause lasting ecological damage. By studying the ecology and dispersal of invasive species such as Japanese knotweed and the spotted lanternfly, researchers can better understand how these species establish, thrive, and move across landscapes. This knowledge is essential for developing effective management strategies and informing policy.

Equally important is outreach: producing clear, accessible materials helps landowners, community members, and policymakers recognize invasive threats and take action to curb their spread. Our lab is actively expanding collaborations, including with the Invasive Species Collaborative, to strengthen research capacity and ensure that scientific findings translate into real-world solutions for managing invasives.
